Ways to Serve
Serving in God's name is a natural progression in the life of faith. As we grow closer to our Creator, we naturally want to reach out and serve people in need. We encourage everyone in the Christ Church community to let the Spirit guide them in this process.
For some ideas, consider serving within the church, within the community or in ministries around the world.
You'll also find links to these areas of service listed at left.
If you want to serve right now, here are a few opportunities:
DISASTER RELIEF MISSION TRIP
Volunteers, age 18 and up, are invited to join a mission trip to the New Port Richey area from August 29th to September 2nd. For more information, please contact Cheryl Yaeger at email@example.com. The team will help with repairs to homes damaged when the area experienced major flooding last year. Housing will be provided at the church. Participants will be responsible for the cost of their food and gasoline, and will need to bring their own bedding, air mattresses or cots, etc. Those who are unable to participate but would like to help may consider making a monetary donation to Christ Church with "New Port Richey Mission Trip" in the memo line.
WESLEY GROUPS AT WEDNESDAY NIGHT 2:42 DINNERS
Wesley Groups are invited to volunteer once a month, or once each quarter, to help greet and serve at the Wednesday night 2:42 dinners. We'll start at 5:30pm with prayer, and then greet diners, serve food, and act as friendly ambassadors. There will be time for each person to eat and be out-the-door to attend activities at 6:30pm. If your group would like to participate, please contact Pastor Monique McBride at firstname.lastname@example.org; or click here to contact Pat Burton.
DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS
The Christmas Decorating Team will once again implement the greening of the churches in November. They are seeking interested individuals to help evaluate and plan the decorations at both the Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach campuses. If you would like to be part of this annual tradition, please click here to contact team leader, Stephanie Engle.
Individuals unable to attend church due to illness or hospitalization long to experience Christ's presence and their church's love. If you are interested in visiting one of our shut-ins who is unable to attend weekly worship, or visiting someone in the hospital, please contact Pastor Fawn Mikel by email at email@example.com, or call 954.771.7300, x250.
DRIVERS TO PICK UP PANTRY SUPPLIES
The Blessings Food Pantry needs drivers to pick up donated foods from partner grocery stores and companies, and deliver them to the pantry on the Christ Church Pompano Beach campus. The schedule is very flexible, and is a perfect fit for anyone with limited time who wants to be part of this important ministry. To volunteer, or for more information, please contact Rich Storts at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CALLING COOKIE BAKERS!Homemade cookies are needed for refreshment service on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Just drop your cookies off at the church office between 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday--and the Hospitality Team will do the rest! For information, please contact Rene McNeil at email@example.com.
