Ways to Serve
Serving in God's name is a natural progression in the life of faith. As we grow closer to our Creator, we naturally want to reach out and serve people in need. We encourage everyone in the Christ Church community to let the Spirit guide them in this process.
For some ideas, consider serving within the church, within the community or in ministries around the world.
You'll also find links to these areas of service listed at left.
If you want to serve right now, here are a few opportunities:
USED BACKPACKS NEEDED
School is over and many of children will trade their school schedules for beach towels and summer fun. And, many children will trade in their backpacks for a new one in the Fall. What to do with used backpacks still in good shape? Donate them to Christ Church, to be given to homeless individuals in our community. Bring your still-in-good-shape backpacks with you to church on Saturday or Sunday, June 18/19 or drop them off at the church office any time.
HELP WITH VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL AT THE ELC
Pastor Monique McBride will be leading a Vacation Bible School July 11-15 at the Early Learning Center on the Pompano Beach Campus. You can help by donating needed supplies that are listed on the donation board in the breezeway, by volunteering to help with crafts or reading Bible stories, or by providing breakfast and treats for the teachers that week. To volunteer or for more information, email Pastor Monique at firstname.lastname@example.org
It's that time of year ... hurricane season is under way! To prepare for possible storm or storms, we are asking members of the Christ Church community if they would need help before or after a storm. We need volunteers to help prepare the homes of elderly or disabled individuals, as well as all church properties. Whether you will need help or are willing to serve by helping others, please complete the form at echristchurch.org/hurricaneprep
COOKIE ... COFFEE ... WELCOME!
Sunday mornings at Christ Church are busy with people coming and going. Often the way we are best able to talk is over a cup of coffee and a piece of fruit or cookie. Our hospitality team needs help every Sunday, making sure the cookies are served and the coffee pots are full and ready for anyone coming to worship. If you would like to serve, please contact Barbara Berhow at 954.771.7300, or by email at email@example.com
