Serving in Our Community
There are many ways for you to serve others in our church and community.
Christ Church operates nearly a dozen ministries of its own and partners with many community organizations to extend Jesus' love. Here are some ways to serve now:
Blessings Food Pantry The Blessings Food Pantry gives food to families and individuals in need from the Pompano Beach campus of Christ Church. The pantry is open 9am-noon, Monday-Thursday. Volunteers are needed to meet with clients, hear their needs and give hope. Training is provided. Contact ministry leaders at 954.943.0404 or email Linda Traub to volunteer.
Carry Out for Kids This ministry on the Pompano Beach campus of Christ Church ensures that chronically hungry school children have food over weekends and holidays. More details are available at echristchurch.org/carry
GEMS Gracious, Energetic, Motivated Servers - COLLECT boxtops and school labels, unused toiletry items and disposable paper products; DONATE filled backpacks to children in need, as well as hoodies and blankets for the homeless; PREPARE life skill binders, and VOLUNTEER as reading friends to students. God’s Little Lambs God’s Little Lambs provides quality, low-cost, Christian child care for about 100 children, ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten. The center needs volunteers to read to childen and support teachers in other ways. Email George and Karen Hunsaker to volunteer.
Habitat for Humanity Habitat provides opportunities for affordable housing for low-income families by building new and remodeling older houses. Christ Church is sponsoring a home, and will be co-sponsoring along with other churches, another home in 2016. Many Build Days will be available..Sign up at echristchurch.org/habitat
Heart2Heart Heart2Heart is a senior outreach of South Florida. You can extend the love of Christ to senior residents, many who feel forgotten, by becoming a trained volunteer. Hope South Florida is a partnership of local churches devoted to sharing the love of Christ with the homeless in our community. Through partnerships with the Christian community services and churches, Hope South Florida provides housing, mentors, meals, and community one-stop service centers, healing broken families, renewing hope and restoring lives. Love in Action Fort Lauderdale Love in Action Fort Lauderdale is a Christ Church ministry providing meals and fellowship for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or financial disability each Thursday. Hot meals are prepared and packaged on Thursday afternoons beginning at 2:30pm in the Fort Lauderdale church kitchen, and then delivered to Hope Central, 1100 N Andrews Avenue, where they are served to our guests at 6pm. A team of volunteers prepares the meals, and another team serve them. To volunteer for meal preparation, email Pastor Josh Beaty. To volunteer for serving at Hope Central, email Debbie Burns.
Love in Action Pompano Beach Each Sunday, the Love in Action Pompano Beach prepares and serves a 2pm shared meal to individuals and families who come each week for food and fellowship. Some come because they’re physically hungry, others for the conversation and emotional support that is also served by Christ Church volunteers.

Taylor’s Closet Taylor’s Closet is a clothing outreach for teenage girls in foster care, housed on the Pompano Beach campus of Christ Church. Girls receive free, stylish, new clothes, as well as prayer, life-skill classes and hope. Volunteers are needed to help with stocking and administrative duties; email Lynn LaBate. Women 18 and older with a heart for teenage girls and a little fashion sense are needed to be shopping volunteers; email Jenn Busto.
