Serving Throughout the World

We believe that we are called to serve not only in our church and community, but in our world. In light of the flooding in Houston, Texas, and the impact of Hurricane Irma in Florida, Christ Church is responding in two ways: collecting hurricane supplies and food for the Florida Keys and filling flood buckets with cleaning supplies for Texas or other areas of great need.
FOR THE KEYS  Residents of the Florida Keys have been severely impacted by Hurricane Irma and the South East District of the Florida Conference is gathering supplies to send. Please bring any of the following items to worship this weekend, September 23/24 and next, September 30/October 1:
bottled water
disposable diapers and wipes
plastic tarps
mosquito repellent
manual can openers
canned goods and nonperishable food items such as those donated to the Blessings Food Pantry. Click here for a list of recommended food items.
FLOOD BUCKETS  Christ Church has five-gallon buckets for your family to pick-up and fill with designated cleaning supplies.  Click here for a list of the supplies that the United Methodist Committee on Relief requests in each bucket. Bring filled buckets to the Fort Lauderdale Campus of Christ Church by Sunday, October 1. The South East District, in cooperation with UMCOR, will send these buckets to the areas of greatest need in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
If you would like to contribute financially, please go the United Methodist Committee on Relief website here, or write a check to Christ Church with Advance #901670 on the memo line.
