Love in Action Pompano Beach

Love in Action is Christ Church's ministry providing meals and
fellowship for those individuals experiencing homelessness
or financial disability.
sunday | july 16 | 12:30pm to serve, 1pm to celebrate
Just two short years ago, God led Christ Church to share a meal from the Pompano Beach Campus.  Now this community has grown to include up to 200 people many Sunday afternoons.  Come celebrate where God is leading with a cookout on the Pompano Beach Campus.  There'll be hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages and, of course, birthday cake!
Love in Action Pompano Beach started July 5, 2015, with a shared meal of  grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for anyone in the community surrounding the Pompano Beach Campus.  About 80 guests attended.

In just eight months, the 2pm Sunday shared meal has created a community of up to 200 individuals who come each week for food and fellowship. Some come because they’re physically hungry, others for the conversation and emotional support that is also served by Christ Church volunteers.

Music, devotions and communal prayer are shared before each meal. Clothing is distributed every week, and haircuts are offered twice a month. Clothing donations can be taken to Sikes Hall every Sunday at 12noon.

Guests are becoming more active within the Christ Church family.  Some are regulars at the Thursday night Bible study. Some helped launch a 3:30pm worship service in the
Pompano Beach Chapel. To date, two guests have publicly claimed Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

If you or your small group would like to become part of this ministry, please email Yvonne Womack, ministry leader.
