Hope South Florida
HOPE SOUTH FLORIDA is a partnership of more than 50 churches in our community devoted to sharing the love of Christ with the homeless in our community. Through partnerships with the Christian community services and churches, Hope South Florida provides housing, mentors, meals, and community one-stop service centers, healing broken families, renewing hope and restoring lives.
Christ Church first began its ministry to the homeless in 1995, when families and individuals lived in an area known as Tent City in downtown Fort Lauderdale with access to few or no resources to address their needs. From that effort came The Shepherd's Way apartments, providing housing for homeless families. In 2010, Christ Church joined seven other churches in our community to develop Hope South Florida, to collectively “Build Hope, Build Housing and Build Community” as part of a holistic response to homelessness.
