Backpack Project

When students head back to school this fall, Christ Church invites you to help make sure they have the supplies they need.
Last fall, the Backpack Project put backpacks and supplies in the hands of nearly 1,000 students at 26 public elementary, middle and high schools in Broward County.
This summer, when back-to-school supplies go on sale, you can decide to shop in stores for students. Some families find it helpful to shop together and talk about helping others as they shop. Items to purchase are:

-- Backpacks without wheels
-- Boxed dry erase markers
-- Boxed colored markers
-- Loose-leaf notebook paper
-- Composition books
-- Spiral-bound notebooks
-- Packs of #2 pencils
-- Boxed colored pencils
-- Highlighters
-- Glue sticks
-- Pens
-- Folders with 2 pockets/prongs
-- Erasers
-- Pencil sharpeners
Items can be brought to the church starting Saturday, July 29, 2017.
Last year, Christ Church gave nearly 1,000 backpacks to 26 elementary, middle and high schools as well as to children of Faith in Action, God's Little Lambs, and the Blessings Food Pantry as well as others. This project is co-sponsored by the Gracious Energetic Motivated Servers (GEMS) and the FREEWAY Student Ministry.
Students at the following Broward County public schools will be helped by your donations the Christ Church Backpack Project:
Bennett Elementary
Cypress Elementary
Martin Luther King Elementary
Oakland Park Elementary
Pompano Beach Middle
Sunrise Middle
Blanche Ely High
