Pastor Brett Opalinski
Brett is a lifelong Methodist who was raised in Lakeland, Florida. He has served First United Methodist Church, Sebring, Rader Memorial United Methodist Church, Miami, and most recently, Memorial United Methodist Church in Fernandina Beach. In addition Brett worked for Bishop Warner Brown in the Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone annual conferences of the United Methodist Church, while doing post-graduate work in Denver, Colorado.
Brett has a bachelor's degree in public administration from Samford University, a master of divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a doctorate in New Testament and early Christianity from Iliff School of Theology/University of Denver. Brett and his wife, Andra, have two daughters, Anna Brook and Emily. When not working, Brett enjoys running, fishing, and playing guitar.

Henri Nouwen, N.T. Wright, John Wesley, Eugene Peterson, Brian McLaren, Wendell Berry and Thomas Merton, to name a few.

What were your first jobs?
Bagging groceries at Publix and mowing grass.
What are your favorite TV shows?
The Andy Griffith Show, Big Bang Theory and Law and Order. Yes, I know it's an odd mix.

Jayber Crow, by Wendell Berry
What are your favorite characteristics of Christ?
Jesus welcomes everybody with the grace and love of God, he invited people to become who God created them to be, and he always saw people as more than their worst mistakes. He viewed people with the eyes of God and loved them with the heart of God.
